Day two

Leavin' Davis-

This nature lover's trail features oncoming traffic spraying visitors with grit. I was picking sand out of my teeth for miles....

The trail leads directly to West Sacramento, which has some really cool retro motels which I failed to photograph

Bridge over American River-

Hitting the American River Trail-

The Incredible Bulk rests near the river beneath an oak-

A lovely day along the American River. I once read that this trail was dangerous, with vagrants swinging bats and throwing rocks at bikers and joggers, but it was nothing but easy riding and wonderful sights-

Wrong turn?

He wouldn't tell my why -

Anyone remember this spot?

Megawattage baby!

At this point in Folsom I met a fellow cyclist and he and I agreed that my map of this area was bad. We put our heads together and still couldn't pickG up the proper route. Then we met another cyclist who was headed for Green Valley Ave so we followed along. Thanks guys!

Plenty of cars to keep me company on Green Valley Rd. I read that this road was treacherous and I agree-This section was a challenge. Breezes one minute and dead heat the next.-

Safe in Rescue. A mile after this sign, an angry driver cut me off. My day ends a little further at Mike + Kelly's house. They recently moved to a killer spot in the hills and graciously accepted my crash request

  3. Hi Pete. Saw Claudia today at the salon and she gave me the link to your trip. What an exciting thing to do. I love that you felt equal to it. Would love to go to the inviting green park along the American River. C. said you're in the NV desert now. Such gorgeous country; bowls of stars with no light pollution. I'd love to see more pictures of where you are now. I imagine it's hard to bike and photograph. Stay safe and enjoy. Katherine.
